The District awards communities with outstanding or significantly improved recycling programs; buinesses or organizations who excell in reducing, reusing or recycling; schools, educators and students who have made an outstanding contribution to recycling education; and residents who have made an impressive contribution toward furthering recyling in Hamilton county.

Below are the 2014 Award Recipients:

  • Student Recycler of the Year - Casey Smith, Loveland High School
  • Best Community Recycler (>10,000 population) – City of Montgomery
  • Best Community Recycler (<10,000 population) – Village of Mariemont
  • Most Improved Community Recycling Program – City of Deer Park
  • Most Innovative Community Recycling Award – City of Forest Park
  • Public Recycling Excellence – Bunbury and Buckle Up Music Festivals
  • Recycling at Work, Program of the Year – Tri-Health
  • The Interchange – Business of the Year – StreamKey
  • Outstanding Recycling in a Multi-Family Residence – Burney View Apartments
  • Outstanding Recycling in a Bar or Restaurant – Verde Salad & More
  • Innovation in Waste Reduction Award – Da-Lite Screen Company
  • Excellence in Reuse – Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries
  • John Van Volkenburgh Award for Recycling Innovation – Sycamore Community School District
