The School Waste Reduction Grant Program has been combined with the District Priority Grant Program and will distribute up to $75,000 in grant dollars through competitive grants in 2016..

The purpose of the District Priority Grant is to assist communities, schools, and non-profit organizations in implementing innovative waste reduction and recycling programs. The District intends the District Priority Grant to unify waste reduction and recycling efforts across Hamilton County by addressing three key solid waste issues. Priorities for the 2016 grant cycle are as follows:

  • School District -Wide Waste Diversion
  • Special Venue Recycling (entertainment districts, sporting/art venues, parks, etc.)
  • Waste Reduction Projects (replacing disposables with reusable tableware, etc.)


The deadline for the 2016 District Priority Grant Application is September 30, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
