The School Waste Reduction Grant Program has been combined with the District Priority Grant Program and will distribute up to $75,000 in grant dollars through competitive grants in 2016.
The purpose of the District Priority Grant is to assist communities, schools, and non-profit organizations in implementing innovative waste reduction and recycling programs. The District intends the District Priority Grant to unify waste reduction and recycling efforts across Hamilton County by addressing three key solid waste issues. Priorities for the 2016 grant cycle are as follows:
- School District-Wide Waste Diversion
- Special Venue Recycling (entertainment districts, sporting/art venues, parks, etc.)
- Waste Reduction Projects (replacing disposables with reusable tableware, etc.)
Applications will no longer be accpeted for the 2016 grant cycle. The deadline for the 2016 District Priority Grant Application was September 30. Please check back for information on the 2017 grant cycle.
